Today, for the first time in 6 years, famine is officially proclaimed. This is not a label used casually. Currently approximately 40% of the population of South Sudan are in urgent need of food with about 100,000 people facing starvation. What’s even worse is that the situation is largely man made due to the on-going civil war. Aid to the region is difficult as humanitarian aid organizations are limited in reach due to the war in the region.
Humanitarian Software has multiple clients who fund and/or provide needed medical supplies to many areas in Africa, including South Sudan. As always, we would like to thank them for their efforts and pledge our continued support of these programs.
